Dental Anesthesiology is the subject that studies removal of pains and reduction of anxiety during dental treatments and prevention and treatment of emergency during dental treatments. This laboratory gives the professional anesthetic management to patients who undergo oral and maxillofacial surgery and patients with disabilities. It is the main direction of the research. In addition, we perform the research and education on general anesthesia as well as sedation during the dental treatment and prevention and treatment of emergency during dental treatments. Side effects of anesthesia, pain managements of patients undergoing surgery, pain managements in the head and neck, and anesthesia management of outpatients are important areas for research and treatments.
Research areas
-
Studies on airway management
It is an important issue to secure the airway during dental treatments. -
Studies on behavioral therapy of patients with disabilities
We are performing the studies to seek methods for safer and more efficient dental treatments such as procedures and administration of drugs for patients with disabilities, particularly mental retardation, autism as behavioral therapy during dental treatments.
