Overview
Subjects of the pediatric dentistry are children from a new born baby to a youth. It is one field of wide dentistry including general field and professional field of dentistry, and special fields such as hospital dentistry, dentistry for disabilities, treatment of congenital and hereditary oral diseases.

Laboratory of pediatric dentistry in Seoul National University was founded in 1956 and it boasts the longest history in the Asia.
We are performing the clinical and basic research in the field of pediatric dentistry with 7 full time professors and 14 adjunct faculty members. We are in charge of training graduate students and residents in pediatric dentistry. In addition, we actively perform academic activities such as presenting and publishing papers in Korea academy of pediatric dentistry, Asia & Japan academy of pediatric Dentistry, Academy of pediatric Dentistry and International Association of Pediatric Dentistry.

We are in charge of educating graduate students in school of dentistry for the pediatric dentistry such as understanding of general dental diseases from the birth to the adolescent, restoration of dental caries and endodontic treatment, prevention of oral diseases, treatments of delayed growth of maxillofacial areas and teeth, management of occlusion, pediatric orthodontic, pediatric surgical treatments, treatments of trauma of oral tissues and teeth, sports dentistry and treatment of teeth of patients with systematic diseases or disabled children. We are operating the in-depth educational program for detailed majors through master and Ph.D. programs.
